In July of 1985, the Lord led Pastor Bryan Newberry to start Calvary Chapel San Diego in the South Bay area.

Our vision was to follow the example of Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa - - to faithfully teach the Word of God, knowing that “healthy sheep beget healthy sheep.”

Through the years we have grown, seeing many individuals as well as entire families placing their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Today, we are continuing to build the Body of Christ through the teaching of His Word. We are also enjoying the opportunities God is providing through open doors to minister in other nations around the world.

“And Jesus came and spoke to them saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of this age.’ Amen.”
