Meet the Pastors
Carlos Alvarado

Pastor Carlos grew up in Compton, California and later moved with his family to Mexicali B.C. Mexico. He moved to San Diego in 1986. He has been married to his beautiful wife Bertha for 12 years and they have two wonderful children Joshua, 11 & Amanda Grace, 7.

Pastor Carlos has been attending Calvary Chapel San Diego since January 1996 and has served in various ministries in the church.

He became an Assistant Pastor in May of 2007 and is ministering to the Spanish speaking community, simultaneously translating our Sunday AM services into Spanish via headsets and translating the Bilingual Service from the pulpit.

He leads one of our midweek services every Tuesday night with all Spanish Worship & Praise Music and Bible Study. His heart’s desire is to bring the Calvary Chapel style of faithfully teaching through the Bible, verse by verse, covering the whole counsel of God to the Hispanic community in San Diego’s South Bay. His goal is to see the Spanish congregation grow and mature in the knowledge of God’s Word so that they can in turn minister to others.

Please pray that the Lord would continue to give Pastor Carlos wisdom, vision, direction, and strength to continue doing the work that He has called him to do.
