Meet the Pastors and Staff
Sammy Sandino - Assistant Pastor / Youth Ministry

Sammy was born and raised in Southern California until the end of 4th grade, and then he and his family moved to La Paz Mexico, B.C. He lived in this little paradise 4 years, after which he moved to San Diego. This led way to Sammy’s conversion. At age 15, he gave his life to Jesus Christ and that brought about a radical transformation in his life.

Sammy attended Calvary Chapel Bible College in 1997 after graduating from High School. He married his best friend and high school sweetheart, Kim in August of 1998. His beautiful wife gave birth to his son, Christian in 1999. His daughter, Leah was born to them in 2001.

Sammy has been serving here at Calvary Chapel San Diego since August of 2000 as a Youth Pastor. He believes that ministering to the youth of today is a very important calling. This is the age where people discover who they are and/or will become. His purpose is to help our teens find a fullness of life in Jesus Christ (John 10:10), to help them find their identity in Him, and to live their lives with reckless abandon for the things of God. To some this may seem difficult, but Sammy is convinced that all things are possible with our God.

Please keep Sammy and his family in prayer that God would provide a fresh vision. Also that he would have wisdom, strength, love and patience so he may accurately represent Jesus and the Holy scriptures to these young people.
