Mike & Theresa Howard

Mike and Theresa are our missionaries in Harrogate, England. They have three children: Sabrina (8 years old), Seth (4 years old) and Sophia (1½ years old).

Mike has been on the mission field since 1991 where he served the Lord and where he met Theresa in 1994 who was a missionary as well. They both served the Lord in Budapest, Hungary. They married in 1996 and the Lord led them to England in 1998. In 2000 they were led to Harrogate, England.

Mike is the Pastor of Calvary Chapel of Harrogate and teaches at the Bible College in York. God continues to build the church. Over the years we have seen many people come to the Lord and the faith of others strengthened. With a strong military presence in the church we have had several times of church growth from those families who are stationed here for three years at a time. It is sad to see them go however but a great honor and privilege to minister and serve those who give their lives for us.

The church has reached the community of Harrogate on many different levels from bringing evangelistic groups and teams from the US to helping city youth detached workers with troubled and needy kids through outreach and evangelism, old folks home ministry, men and women’s discipleship, and soccer outreaches. At present we have over ten Sunday School workers a worship team, a 1730 ministry (for ages 17-30) and 4 prayer meetings a week. We also have servants helping to set up and tear down for the Sunday morning services. In addition to those who come we have some in the church who are disabled and debilitated so that they stay at home much of their lives and cannot come out to the meetings. These are precious saints of the Lord and we have people who feel called to visit and care for them.

We are constantly looking to outreach into the surrounding areas within the Harrogate district where over 180,000 people live and work. Harrogate is one of the most beautiful areas in all of England.
