Ensenada - Kid's Kingdom

Mexico Orphanage Ministry
One of the Outreach programs is Orphanage-Reino de Los Niños (Kids' Kingdom). "Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." James 1:27

These precious little faces down in Ensenada, Mexico, are full of the love and the joy of the Savior. We support this Orphanage through financial contributions as well as day trips on a regular basis to love the children and participate in projects the Orphanage may need accomplished.

There is also the "Tio-Tia Club" (uncle and aunt) program, which allows you to develop a more personal relationship with one or more of the children, blessing them with a monthly donation for their personal well being and education.

For more information regarding missions trips to the orphanage, please contact Tito Jimenez at 619-470-2989, or by e-mail: (Please note: Tito leads the missions trips to the orphanage; he is not the orphanage director.)

More Information About Kid's Kingdom

Background: (Information on Tomás & Maricela)
In March of 1989 they were happily serving at Calvary Chapel Pomona with Hispanic young adults, but they were feeling it was time to move on. It was at this time they heard that Calvary Chapel Downey was looking for someone to take over the orphanage in Maneadero. Through many supernatural circumstances God confirmed in their hearts and Calvary Chapel that they were the ones that God had chosen for this mission.

Tomás met Maricela in 1984 serving at an orphanage in Mexico and they were married in 1986, both with the same desire to serve full-time at the orphanage. At the time they were part of Calvary Chapel San Diego. Six months after being married they moved to Los Angeles to serve at Calvary Chapel Pomona. Now, in spiritual retrospect, they realize that God took them north to become missionaries with Calvary Chapel to return south to take care of the children at the Kids' Kingdom in Mexico with the wonderful fellowship of Calvary Chapel supporting them through prayer, supplies and finances! They consider themselves very blessed!

Current Work:
The Kids’ Kingdom Children’s Home was founded in May of 1989 to serve the needy, abused and abandoned children of Mexico. Our express mission is to raise the children in the love and discipline of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our desire is to see the children mature into responsible Christian adults whose lives are founded on Biblical principles and whose impact on society will be positive and lasting.

We provide the basic needs, including food, clothing, shelter, and medical care. We give them an education and spiritual training. There are also extracurricular activities including music, sports, and art, which the Mexican public educational system is not providing for underprivileged Mexican children. Tomás and Maricela are the spiritual mom and dad for 50 children and oversee numerous staff, and supervise visiting support teams from the United States. Tomás also does guest speaking and we have seen fruit from the purity, marriage, and mens' conferences. These are much-needed teachings in Mexico. We also duplicate and distribute around 15,000 teaching tapes a year of our seminars as a resource to many needy churches in Mexico, Central and South America.

We have a sponsorship program called the Tio-Tia Club (important because the government agencies send us kids without providing any financial aid.)

Now, we have a 15 missionaries who live on the premises.

Future Vision:
Due to the fact that the orphanage requires so much daily routine and maintenance to see long-term fruit, we pray that God would continually renew our vision and strength to serve the children with the same fervor that we have for 16 years. Our hope and prayer is that we would see more fruit in the lives of the teens and all the young people that have “graduated” from our home.

We also desire that Kids Kingdom would continue to be used as an instrument in God’s hands to be an outreach to many youth and adults in our community as well as in other parts of Latin America through our tape and seminar ministry and…through our new vision God has given us to have youth outreaches at our facilities as we are now blessed with a beautiful mini-chapel that seats about 200 people. We would like to have youth rallies, concerts, seminars and weekend retreats. We had our first weekend youth retreat in May and had over 160 youth plus 75 adults. Everyone we asked said it was the best retreat they’d been too! So many lives were touched and changed. Please pray for this new venture as it is a way our kids and ministry, which has been so blessed by God, can be a blessing to so many people!!

Prayer Requests:

  1. Reoccurring health problems of both Tomás and Maricela.
  2. A missionary for English correspondence and Tio-Tia Club.
  3. Assistant director.
  4. Funds to purchase the property.
  5. Stability and vision in the lives of the teens, so they would be able to stay till they are 18, and that we can see more fruit in their lives.
  6. General contractor to help with general maintenance and organize workgroups.
  7. Health of the children and missionaries (physically and spiritually.)
