What happens to those left behind after the rapture?
Everyone that is not “Raptured” will have to go through the
“Tribulation Period” and experience 7 years of incredible hardship
as God pours out His wrath on the earth.
First let’s see what the “RAPTURE” is; the
word is not found in the English Bible, it comes from the Latin
translation of the Greek word “caught up”. We can find it mentioned
in these verses:
1 Thessalonians 4:17-18
Then we who are alive and remain shall be
caught up
together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And
thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one
another with these words.
NKJV
1 Corinthians 15:50-54
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the
kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold,
I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep,
but we shall all be changed
— 52
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.
For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised
incorruptible,
and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal
must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on
incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be
brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up
in victory."
NKJV
Now let’s look at what the “TRIBULATION PERIOD”
is; the Great tribulation is the time that God will say enough is
enough; He will not put up with the sins of humanity; He will pour
out his righteous judgment on humanity.
Take a look at some of the things that will be
happening:
Revelation 8:7-13
The first
angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood,
and they were thrown to the earth. And
a third of the trees were burned up,
and
all green grass was burned up.
Second
Trumpet: then the second angel sounded: And something like a
great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea,
and a third of the sea became blood.
9
And a third of the living creatures in the sea
died,
and
a third of the ships were destroyed.
Third
Trumpet: Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell
from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the
rivers and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is
Wormwood.
A third of the waters became wormwood, and many
men died from the water, because it was made bitter.
Fourth Trumpet: Then the fourth angel sounded:
And a third of the sun was struck,
a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so
that a third of them were darkened.
A third of the day did not shine, and likewise
the night.
And I looked, and I heard an angel flying through
the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, "Woe, woe, woe to
the inhabitants of the earth,
because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of
the three angels who are about to sound!"
NKJV
It will be a very scary and bad time to be alive;
that’s why Jesus talked about being ready to see the Lord. We
should live in a right relationship with Him, so we don’t end up on
earth during this time.
Luke 21:34-36
"But
take heed to yourselves,
lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and
cares of this life,
and that Day come on you unexpectedly.
35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of
the whole earth. 36
Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be
counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass,
and to stand before the Son of Man."
NKJV
