Topic:  SHARING YOUR FAITH

HOW DO I CHANGE SOMEONE OF A DIFFERENT RELIGION INTO CHRISTIANITY?

Well, we don’t do the changing, God does.

We should live it:

All we are to do is represent the Christian life in a way that properly teaches who God is.  When we live our lives in a godly way people will see our lives, and they will turn to God.  It only works when we live the biblical Christian life; it won’t work if we live a fake Christian life.

Matthew 5:13 "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?...  NKJV

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.  NKJV

Your life is to make a difference wherever you go.  When you put a little salt in to a glass of water it’s very obvious to the person drinking it that the salt is there.  Also, your Christian life is to be visible and full of good work, not secretive or undercover.  Here are some examples of what not to do as a Christian and what we should do as Christians, if you want to properly represent God.

Galatians 5:19-23 What human nature does is quite plain. It shows itself in immoral, filthy, and indecent actions; 20 in worship of idols and witchcraft. People become enemies and they fight; they become jealous, angry, and ambitious. They separate into parties and groups; 21 they are envious, get drunk, sexually sin, and do other things like these. I warn you now as I have before: those who do these things will not possess the Kingdom of God.

22 But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 humility, and self-control. There is no law against such things as these.  Today’s English Version

We should know it & teach it:

People will have questions for you when they see your life.  Some will even make fun of the way you live, but you should know what you believe and why you believe it so you can respond.  Reading your Bible and going to a good church should help you out on this.

1 Peter 3:15-17  But have reverence for Christ in your hearts, and honor him as Lord. Be ready at all times to answer anyone who asks you to explain the hope you have in you, 16 but do it with gentleness and respect. Keep your conscience clear, so that when you are insulted, those who speak evil of your good conduct as followers of Christ will become ashamed of what they say. 17 For it is better to suffer for doing good, if this should be God's will, than for doing evil.   TEV

We should care:

We should want to teach people what the Bible says about sin and death, heaven and hell, because we have true love and concern for them.  If your motivation for talking to them is to prove you’re right, the way that you speak to them will turn them away from God.   You should speak the truth to them in love.

Colossians 4:5-6 Be wise in the way you act toward those who are not believers, making good use of every opportunity you have. 6 Your speech should always be pleasant and interesting, and you should know how to give the right answer to everyone TEV

He will do it:

God will use us to bring others close to Him, and then by His Spirit and with loving-kindness and tender mercies He will save as many as want to respond to Him.
